Name Glory
Dear ladies and gentlemen, you all would know that there is a concept of four ages in Sanatan Dharma, these ages are- Satyayuga, Tretayuga, Dwaparayuga and Kaliyuga. The great saint of Bhakti period Goswami ji has mentioned various rituals and fruits of the four ages in 'Ramcharitmanas', which is as follows-
That is, the same path that is attained by worship, sacrifice and yoga in Satya Yuga, Treta and Dwapara is attained by people in Kali Yuga only by the name of God. Let us say again –
That is, everyone is a yogi and a scientist in Satyayuga. By meditating on Hari, all beings cross the ocean. In Treta, people perform many types of yagya and by surrendering all their deeds to the Lord, they cross the Bhavsagar.
That is, by worshiping the feet of Shri Raghunathji in Dwapar, humans cross the world, there is no other way, and in Kaliyuga, only by singing the praises of Shri Hari, humans reach the bottom of the ocean.
That is, there is neither yoga and yajna nor knowledge in Kaliyuga. The praise of Shri Ramji is the only basis. Therefore, abandoning all faith, one who worships Shri Ramji and sings his praises with love. He gets wet from the Bhavsagar, there is no doubt about it. The glory of the name is visible in Kaliyuga. There is a holy pratap (glory) of Kaliyug that there are mental virtues, but there are no (mental) sins.
Kaliyuga has been considered the worst among the four yugas, because everyone who is free from self-religion will take shelter of hypocrisy, but the greatness and divinity of Kaliyuga is that even an ordinary person can easily attain God without doing any difficult ritual-penance. Is. In Satyayuga there is excess of sattva guna in man, in Tretayuga there is harmony of Rajogun with excess of sattva, in Dwapar there is excess of Rajoguna, equality of Sattva and Tama and in Kaliyuga “Tamas is very Rajogun thora”. Kali Prabhav Virodh Chahun Ora” means excess of Tamogun, more Tamogun and more antagonism, this is said to be the symptom of all the four ages.
In this context, Goswami Tulsi Das ji's opinion is That is, if man believes, then there is no other age like Kaliyuga, (because) in this age, by singing the pure virtues of Shri Ramji, man swims through the ocean of the world without effort. In the Nagarkhand of Skanda Purana, Shri Shiv ji says to Mother Parvati ji in the context of the glory of Ram's name -
That is, these two letters 'Ram' are the destroyer of all sins, while walking, standing or sleeping, whoever chants the name of Ram, becomes a councilor of Lord Hari in the world. These two letters 'Ram' are more important than innumerable mantras.‘राम’ यह दो अक्षर असंख्य मंत्रों से भी अधिक महत्वकारी है।
Ramchandra, Ram-Ram, this two-syllable mantra, when pronounced in this way, makes all the works of the earth successful. Therefore, O Parvati! You also always chant the name of Ram, it destroys all (past and present subtle and gross) sins.
It is said in Brahma and Hiranyagarbha Samhita of Narada Pancharatra respectively-
That is, such a post of Ram is called Tarak Brahma, this mantra is the destroyer of heinous sins like Brahmahatyadi, it has been said by the knowers of the Vedas. The name of Shri Ram is the ultimate mantra and the supreme position, whereas the fear of birth and death is destructive, know it as Tarakabrahma. In Shri Mad Bhagwat Purana Shri Shukdev ji says to Parikshit ji-
That is, just as nectar, a powerful drug divinely, shows its effect even if consumed unknowingly, in the same way, chanting the name of Shri Ram unknowingly also removes the sorrows of the world.
The glory of Ram's name cannot be glorified by Shesh who has hundreds of faces and even Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and speech, specially the Nirguna and Saguna devotee poets of the medieval period kept the glory of the name in the public mind through folk languages. Goddesses and gentlemen, the various quotes above are of name glory, what happens in the name article, both our chanting and writing goes on. The glory of name writing has come in “Anand Ramayana, Manorahkand, Seventh Sarga”, where Vishnudas tells his Guru the method to please Shri Ram ji “Raghavasya Tushtidam ki Vadaswa Tat”. After that the Guru named 'Ramdas' says -
That is, a person who desires the love of Sri Rama should write nine hundred or one hundred and eight Rama Naam every day and worship him with devotion.
Again, in the same verse it is said, “Japat shat gunam punyam ramanampralekhane” meaning that there is a hundred times more merit in writing the name of Rama than in chanting.
